Located along I-94 in Lake County and 38 miles from downtown Chicago, the Village of Lincolnshire was incorporated in 1957. The residential character is largely one-half acre lots and larger with most of the residential development located east of the Des Plaines River. West of the river, a growing commercial and corporate office tax base includes Marriott Resort, several restaurants and retail areas and a corporate center which is home to several Fortune 500 companies.
Located 35 miles north of Chicago on beautiful Lake Michigan, the Village of Lake Bluff was once a turn-of-the-century summer resort. As a modern full service municipality, Lake Bluff is unique in character and hometown values and offers a lifestyle that is removed from urban traffic and bustle.
According to a Village of Lincolnshire 1997 Resident Survey, the "Top 10 Resident Favorites" list includes trees/wooded lots, schools, location, small town, residential lot sizes, quiet/peaceful, safety/security, highway access, neighbors and parks.
Fun things to do in Lincolnshire include riding the bike paths, spending the day at Spring Lake Park's beach, shopping the boutiques, visiting Florsheim Nature Preserve, canoeing the Des Plaines from the Rivershire Park canoe launch, and much more.
The Lake Bluff School District 65 has provided excellence in education for children for over 100 years. The District is 5.6 square miles in size with a 2011-12 student enrollment of 900 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th Grade. District 65 students attend Lake Forest High School.
